Pest Control

In order to ensure your planted crop has the best chance at survival a certain level of pest control/management may be required. Depending on your location, animal pests such as rabbits/hares, deer, possums, wallaby, goats and pigs can cause serious damage by browsing on new bush and tree planting. This can either stunt growth of the seedlings or in some cases kill the plant entirely.

There are different options to control the risk of animal damage – repellents can be applied at the nursery level, or post bush and tree planting to deter animals and in more drastic cases eradication through trapping and shooting should be considered.

We do not currently undertake any pest control services directly, but we are more than happy to consult with you about your New Zealand forest management and the best steps to ensure a healthy crop of trees.
